Keen to conserve Hong Kong's heritage, the Government has made major efforts to revitalise old neighbourhoods and historic buildings. In October, the Government unveiled the revised design for the conservation and revitalisation of the Central Police Station Compound to create a contemporary arts hub at this special historic site. Declared a monument in 1995, the compound comprises the former Central Police Station, the former Central Magistracy and Victoria Prison. In November, DETOUR 2010 was staged at the Victoria Prison to showcase Hong Kong as a regional creative hub. |
