The glittering Hong Kong Pavilion was the centrepiece of Hong Kong’s participation in the World Exposition 2010 Shanghai China (Shanghai Expo) from May 1 to October 31. The Pavilion occupied a prime 1 390 square metre site adjacent to the China Pavilion, and welcomed more than 2 million visitors. Hong Kong staged a feast of events and activities in Shanghai during the Expo, the largest and most sustained promotional programme undertaken by Hong Kong at an international event.
