Elections for the Legislative Council take place every four years. The election for the fourth term of the Legislative Council since Hong Kong's reunification with the Mainland was held on September 7, 2008. Over 1.52 million registered electors cast their votes on polling day, a turnout of 45.2 per cent. All permanent residents aged 18 or above are entitled to vote. |
